Inspired To Launch My Website

My interaction with numerous people on Ravelry has renewed my enthusiasm to again take steps to launch my large size knit and Crochet pattern collection, so i have set my website launch date for Nov. 24. Knitsatlarge will be the name of the site, and it will feature, large size Knit and Crochet garments for the fuller figure, a collection of sweaters and accessories especially designed for each large size figure type. Then there will be a specialty section, that I think everyone will love.

I feel that the large size market, continually needs some work. All large size bodies are not created equal, it's more that just the X's (1X,2X,3X, etc.)The figure type is Key to the design of the garment.Large size garments shown on the 1X model, with no bust or the figure 8 small waisted large sized model, will not give a true picture of how the garment looks on a size 3X,large busted, thick waist individual.

I am confident, that my many many years, of designing for the fuller figure, teaching full figure classes at Stitches. Selling large size garments to large size women of all figure types at a large size boutique, will render an AWESOME. Collection.

The Day of Discovery

I don't know who said that the computer is an evil place to be. When used properly,it's a wonderful place of discovery and learning. A very creative place, an information highway.
Still slowly knitting and crocheting on my projects. Had a little hick -up of computer problems. Odd that as soon as i hear about this FIRefox. My IE starts acting up, and i had to download firefox. All is working well now.
And i'm now gathering photo information, to enable me to take better photos of my work. I'm in kindergarten right now, hopefully in a couple of months i'll be in 3rd grade. OH visited someone's site today, and they had this great place to be creative.See my crazy artwork above.

CeleBRATE GOOD TIMES CA'Mon

YAAAAAAA HOO, (not the email yahoo)I'm working again, i'm actually working producing. The shoemaker with holes in her shoes, is not going to apply to me anymore soon.Pictures, pictures, pictures, coming. My inspirattion has come in from numerous sources. My fellow knitter and crocheting friends, had reminded me that, i not just the teacher, i'm a knitter and crocheter, beader, chainmailler, dollmaker, also. OKay, so i have to admit, that when what you love becomes your profession, you can get lost in the world of paperwork, preparation, etc.etc.etc.( what movie did i get the etc. thing from, was it Mame?). MY RIVER IS RUNNING AGAIN YA'll watch out.

A New Day for The Workaddict

Relaxing, Enjoying, being social. How easy it is to forget to do all of these things. Ravelry.com has helped me to remember that although i teach knitting and crochet all the time, it should still be my passion. I'm loving being able to connect with the various groups and people on Ravelry, what an excellent idea these people came up with. Being a moderater of my own group there satisfys my ever dying need to work, and by joining the knitalongs, crochetalongs, etc. etc. forces me to take the time to knit and crochet my own personal projects. Teaching can pull the starch out of you sometime, you feel extremely thirsty ( emotionally). Ravelry has been my tall glass of cool Raspberry Iced Tea.
Thanks, Ravelry.com

Design Inspiration Challenge Group

MY DESIGN PROCESS FOR KNIT AND CROCHET DESIGNS. Original Designs ( all Rights Reserved), to share with Ravelry's Design Inspiration Challenge Group .

Project 1
I love this ironwork pattern. I would love to make a crochet bag using this design

come back and see the results

Project 2 This is Blond Bird, he is Clipart turned into a knit design using the Design A Knit Software Not sure where I'm going to use him yet. But I think he is cute. Notice the clip art does not have too many color areas

SEE RAVELRY.COM - Design Inspiration Challenge group for a closer look

This makes the conversion a little easier ( in my opinion) I will hope to show you clip art and graph soon.

IN Honor of YOU NiKKi

I've spent the last 8 days in a very exciting CAD ( computer aided design class), designing for the Rose Royce of knitting machines, The Stoll knitting machine is manufactured in Germany. I have one more day to go, then i can start my large list of summer projects. I've also been missing my wonderful friend these last few days.Everytime i spend a lot of time with knitting, i think of her . She passed away, in what now seems many Novembers ago, because every day she is not here, it seems like years have gone by. Her name is Nikki Bronstein, she was the owner of a beautiful yarn store in Boston,we spent a lot of time knit ting and laughing and knitting and laughing. When i'm tired and think i can't go on, i feel her arm around my shoulder, and whispering bad words in my ear ( as she would often do, for shock), and I'm encouraged to press on.

A Time To Be Quiet

I just joined Ravelry this weekend and i am so excited about connecting with so many knitters and crocheters around the world. I see a lot of knitters and crocheters almost daily in my classes and i never get enough of being exposed to so many creative minds. To the left you will see my favorites, and at the top of the list is the link to Xenobia Baileys blogspot. I have had the pleasure of meeting her, and i think she is fantastic. Her Zen like spirit, reminds me to stay quiet sometimes and think about what it is I would like create. I teach all the time, and i am always preping for classes, and running to classes, and running to meetings etc. Although we are half way through the year, there is no better time than now to make time for my creative ideas. I have joined a few groups on Ravelry KAL and CAL, to force me to take time out for me. Let's see how this goes.
